Plot: "Fireflies in el Mozote" contributes a fundamental share in El Salvadors historic memory including impressive revelations about one of the biggest massacres against civilians in recent latin-american history.
In december 1981, the salvadorean army operated in El Mozote
to repel guerrilla influence in the zone. A group of soldiers from the Batallón Atlacatl assasinated more than thousand countrymen accusing them to belong to guerrilla lines. In El Mozote just one woman survived, which bears witness to the barbarism of the massacre.
